After many years in California at Innovative Interface, Ted has decided that the midwest looks good again. In July, Ted, Jennifer and Rachel will pack up and move east to reside in Dublin, Ohio with a new job at OCLC. Everyone here is looking forward to their being closer. Hi, my name is Francis (Frank) Fons. I grew up in Milwaukee, WI. My great grandfather was Francis Fons, and my great great grandfather was Stefan Fons. Francis Fons, my great grandfather, was the eldest in the family. I believe he had one more full brother. He had several half brothers and sisters because his mother died, and his father remarried. Eventually, he brought his father and all but one brother over from Poland, then part of Prussia (Germany). Francis had cousins who arrived in US before him and settled in western Michigan. He also had 2 cousins who came to Milwaukee and settled there. One brother who came to Milwaukee eventually went up to Door County on Washington Island, if I am not mistaken, to be a farmer. I think I know all of the male Fons descendants of my great grandfather, because we used to have cousins' picnics growing up in Milwaukee in the 60s and 70s. I do not recognize Ted as being a descendant of my great uncles - Louis, Steve, John, or Frank. I am wondering if Ted is a descendant perhaps of one of the brothers of my great grandfather or cousins of my great grandfather who also settled in WI, or perhaps is a descendant of one of the cousins of my great grandfather who settled in MI.
